Description

Savory and satisfying, Steak Crostini with Horseradish Sauce and Caramelized Onions is the perfect bite-sized appetizer for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef tenderloin or sirloin steak
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 2 yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Fresh chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice baguette, brush with olive oil, and toast until golden.
  2. Season steak with salt and pepper. Sear in hot skillet until medium rare. Rest 10 minutes, then slice thinly.
  3. In a skillet, cook onions with olive oil and a pinch of salt on low heat for 30–45 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Mix horseradish, sour cream, mustard, lemon juice, and salt to make sauce. Chill until ready.
  5. Assemble crostini: spread horseradish sauce, add steak slice, top with caramelized onions, and garnish.
