Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Ground pork (the classic choice for that rich, savory flavor)
- 1 cup Carrots (finely grated or julienned)
- 1 cup Green beans (chopped small)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce (for seasoning)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
- 20 pieces Lumpia wrappers (thin and delicate)
- 1 large Egg (beaten, used as glue)
- 4 cups Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat, then sauté minced garlic and chopped onion until soft and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
- Crumble in ground pork, cooking until no pink remains and edges start to crisp, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in grated carrots and chopped green beans, then pour in soy sauce. Cook until veggies soften slightly, about 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper, stir well, then simmer until liquid evaporates and filling is moist but not wet, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat to cool.
- Lay one thin wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you. Keep remaining wrappers covered to prevent drying.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons cooled filling near the bottom corner, fold sides over, then roll tightly toward the top corner, sealing with a dab of beaten egg.
- Pour oil into a deep pan and heat to 350°F, about 5 minutes.
- Gently slide 3–4 rolls into hot oil, frying for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
