Description

This Garlic Butter Shrimp Rice recipe is a quick and flavorful weeknight meal. Succulent shrimp are coated in a rich, buttery garlic sauce and served over fluffy rice, creating a comforting and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 cups cooked rice (Jasmine or Basmati recommended)

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth or white wine and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Stir in the chopped parsley.
  6. Serve the garlic butter shrimp immediately over the cooked rice.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute shrimp with chicken or scallops.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
