- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 4 cups cooked rice (Jasmine or Basmati recommended)
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
- Pour in the chicken broth or white wine and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the chopped parsley.
- Serve the garlic butter shrimp immediately over the cooked rice.
