Description

A juicy and flavorful one-pan Beef Rice Skillet recipe, perfect for a quick and comforting weeknight dinner. This easy recipe combines tender ground beef, fluffy rice, and savory seasonings for a complete meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground beef (lean)
  • 1 cup Long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Bell peppers, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup Frozen peas or corn (optional)
  • 1 cup Chopped tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook 2–3 minutes until softened and translucent, stirring occasionally.
  2. Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef. Break it apart and cook 5–6 minutes until no pink remains and juices evaporate.
  3. Sprinkle in paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir 30 seconds to toast spices, releasing a smoky, earthy aroma that deeply flavors the dish.
  4. Stir in rice and pour in beef broth. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Ensure rice is submerged in liquid.
  5. Cover skillet with lid and simmer 18–20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Avoid lifting lid to keep steam trapped.
  6. Uncover and gently fold in bell peppers and frozen peas or corn. Cook 2–3 minutes until veggies are heated and vibrant.
  7. Remove from heat and fluff rice with a fork. Taste and adjust salt. Serve warm garnished with chopped parsley for brightness.

Notes

  • Top with shredded cheddar for extra gooey goodness.
