Description

Soft Christmas Thumbprint Cookies are buttery, tender, and filled with your favorite jam, perfect for holiday baking and gifting.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup jam (raspberry, strawberry, or apricot)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  5. Press a thumb gently into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  6. Fill each indentation with 1/2 teaspoon of jam.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
