Description

Indulge in the ultimate sweet-and-salty treat with The Best Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark. This easy-to-make dessert features crunchy pretzels coated in rich caramel and topped with a smooth chocolate layer, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pretzel twists or sticks
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the pretzels evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the caramel thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt.
  6. Quickly pour the hot caramel evenly over the pretzels, ensuring they are well coated.
  7. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot caramel. Let them sit for a minute to soften, then spread evenly with a spatula to create a chocolate layer.
  8. Sprinkle a little extra sea salt over the chocolate layer.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until the bark is firm and set.
  10. Once firm, break the salted caramel pretzel bark into pieces.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • Ensure the caramel is poured over the pretzels while hot for best coating.
  • Store the finished pretzel bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
