This Ham and Cheese Pasta Bake is a creamy, comforting dish perfect for families and gatherings.

- 12 oz Dry pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- 2 cups Cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- to taste Salt and black pepper
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Extra shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbling and fragrant, about 1–2 minutes without letting it brown.
- Sprinkle in the flour and whisk briskly for about 30 seconds until it forms a pale roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the sauce thickens, about 3–4 minutes.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan until smooth.
- Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- In a lightly greased baking dish, toss the cooked pasta and diced ham with the cheese sauce.
- Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumbs and extra shredded cheese over the pasta.
- Place the dish in a preheated oven at 375°F and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
