Description

Indulge in this Creamy Spinach Mushroom Penne, a comforting and flavorful main course that is quick to prepare and perfect for cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Penne pasta
  • 4 cups Fresh spinach
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup Fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot, then add penne and cook until al dente (8–10 minutes). Drain, reserving about ½ cup of pasta water for the sauce.
  2. Sauté garlic and mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat until mushrooms turn golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Wilt spinach by adding it to the pan, stirring until bright green and tender, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Simmer heavy cream in the pan, bring to a gentle bubble, then stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine drained penne with the creamy sauce, tossing gently to coat every ridge.

Notes

  • Use firm, ridged penne for better sauce adherence.
  • Fresh spinach adds vibrant color and flavor.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control spice level.
