- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar
- 2 large Large eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- 2 cups Chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving a small overhang. Lightly grease the paper.
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Whisk gently to eliminate lumps.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips by hand, reserving a handful to sprinkle on top.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center looks just set.
- Cool bars completely in the pan on a wire rack, about 30 minutes. Use parchment overhang to lift bars out before slicing.
