Description

A creamy, cheesy, and comforting seafood bake featuring tender shrimp topped with a golden breadcrumb crust. This easy recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing and flavor)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of butter with minced garlic.
  3. Arrange the shrimp in an even layer in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together chicken broth, heavy cream, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the cream mixture over the shrimp.
  6. Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the shrimp and cream mixture.
  7. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons of melted butter until coated.
  8. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or properly thawed frozen shrimp for best results.
  • Do not overcook the shrimp to prevent them from becoming rubbery.
  • Customize your cheese blend with mozzarella or Gruyère for a different flavor.
  • For a spicy kick, add Cajun seasoning or hot sauce to the cream mixture.
  • For a low-carb option, replace breadcrumbs with crushed pork rinds or almond flour.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
