Description

Brie and Turkey Ciabatta with Blueberry Jam and Caramelized Onions is a gourmet sandwich layered with roasted turkey, creamy brie, spiced blueberry spread, and golden caramelized onions on crisp toasted ciabatta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ciabatta roll, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 4 ounces sliced roasted turkey breast
  • 2 to 3 slices brie cheese (about 2 ounces)
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Mayonnaise, to taste
  • 1/2 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 4 tablespoons blueberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch garam masala
  • Small pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onion and a pinch of salt. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown. Stir in fresh thyme during the final minute. Remove from heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine blueberry jam, lemon juice, garam masala, and salt. Stir until evenly blended.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F. Brush ciabatta cut sides with olive oil. Place cut-side up on a baking sheet. Arrange brie on the top half and toast for 4 to 6 minutes until bread is crisp and brie begins to melt.
  4. Toss arugula with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the ciabatta. Layer turkey, caramelized onions, and dressed arugula. Spread blueberry mixture over melted brie. Close sandwich, press gently, slice, and serve warm.
