Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Flank Steak (thinly sliced)
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 4 cups Fresh Broccoli Florets
- 2 cloves Garlic (finely minced)
- 1 inch Ginger Root (fresh grated)
- 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon Rice Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds (toasted)
- 2 tablespoons Green Onions (thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Combine Marinade: In a medium bowl whisk ¼ cup soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 1 tsp sesame oil until silky, about 30 seconds.
- Marinate Beef: Add thinly sliced flank steak to marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Heat Pan: Warm 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering—about 2 minutes.
- Sear Beef: Add half the beef in a single layer, cooking 1–2 minutes per side until edges brown. Remove to a plate; repeat with remaining beef.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl whisk 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp brown sugar, ½ cup beef broth, and 1 tsp rice vinegar until sugar dissolves.
- Cook Aromatics: Reduce heat to medium. Add 1 tbsp oil, then garlic and ginger. Sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Steam Broccoli: Add broccoli florets with a splash of water, cover and cook 2 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Combine & Simmer: Return beef to skillet, pour in the sauce. Stir continuously and simmer for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish & Serve: Transfer Easy Beef and Broccoli to a serving dish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
